I grew up in Alexandria, Indiana, and I am at Rose-Hulman studying chemistry. I do not know yet whether I will end up in graduate school or in industry. What I do know is the problem I want to work on, and both routes reach it.

Most of my time outside of class goes to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. I lead a small group and a weekly prayer meeting, mentor other members one on one, and help run our Large Group meeting, which means building the slides, organizing the night, and sitting on the leadership team that plans it. I am also the worship leader, so each week I put together a team and rehearse with them beforehand. I play piano, guitar, and drums, and I sing.

I volunteer at a reading boot camp in Clinton, Indiana. On campus I served as Secretary and then Outreach Coordinator for the Society of Physics Students, where I contacted alumni speakers and coordinated internship panels for the department.

The rest of it is ordinary. I read nonfiction about faith and fiction for its own sake, watch movies with the same group of friends every Sunday, and spend a fair amount of time in other people's rooms down the hall.
